Is it possible to output from Portsdown to composite input on Icom 905 ?
Re: Portsdown 4 Icom 905
Yes, you need this, perhaps you can buy from supplier there.
You need to set video out on pi, also disconnect lcd screen.

Re: Portsdown 4 Icom 905
Hi,
I think portsdown 5 (the next gen) you will be able to, for time being you will have to use k/brd and mouse.

Let's clear up any confusion in the answer to this question.
Future projects will all use digital video in some form (HDMI, SRT, SDI etc). The IC-905 is using modes that were more appropriate 20 years ago.

- The Portsdown 4 does not support composite video output (as needed to input to an IC-905). It may be possible to make it do it, but I reserve the right to inadvertently (not intentionally) disable any work-arounds during future updates. It is just not something that I test.
- The Portsdown 2020 does support composite video output and will continue to do so.
- The best solution (as Gareth says) is to use the BATC Video Source https://wiki.batc.org.uk/BATC_Video_Source which is designed for the job and uses a Raspberry Pi Zero.
- The Portsdown 5 will be not support composite video output. It will support HDMI video output.
