Introduction and Suggestions on 23cm Kit?

Post by m0crt » Tue Oct 27, 2015 6:20 pm

Hi All.

Seeing my callsign is M0CRT (old B call G7RTY)...thought it would be about time to have a go with ATV!

Been taking a look at getting on to the local GB3VL repeater from Doncaster and looking for an appropriate setup.

Had a look at a number of kits, any suggestions...certainly if anyone has kit for sale, I would be interested in purchasing too.

Think from Doncaster, I'm going to need a pre-amp and appropriate antenna...thoughts?

Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Nigel

Hi Nigel
My own basic setup for 23/24. Cms is a comag SL30 FTA RX ..bought 2nd hand on eBay for about £20.....sky boxes are no good.

Antenna is a 44ele wimo yagi ....order direct from wimo in Germany a lot cheaper than uk dealers
Mast head pre amp powered over coax from DG0VE ...about 89€ plus postage from Germany ...just use sat RX cable if using at mast head to your sat RX .

For tx I use a DTX-1 ...available in BATC shop ...covers 70cms and 23 cms ....you will need a amp and possibly a filter after the DTX ...homebrew brick pa or again DG0VE does them .

Obviously there are other TX and RX available ....proberly best to contact the VL group

Good luck
Steve
