I am surprised you have not had people camping outside your house Colin.

Managed to get my minitioune fully working. I could tune it, set the sr, and see the constellation but no video. I thought it was a problem with the streaming part of it but having looked at two receivers yesterday at wimborne i came to the conclusion that the usb module wasn't programmed right

I had a look with the programming tool and found it was at factory default So took a chance at programming it in situ. Seemed ok and now works fine

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions

Now just need to box it up

I've now got all the bits except the Nim socket so I was built it all up as far as STEP 7 in the testing instructions.

I uploaded the config to the FT2232H although it says in FT_PROG Device 0 is an FT232R and Device 1 is the FT2232H.

Anyway I start up mintiouner 1.0g and nothing happens. I can see it in task manager but no window opens.

USB Serial Converter A and B in device manager show drivers as FTDI driver V2.12.6.0 .

The voltages on the board all appear stable.

I don't get the message about the nim not being found.

Any ideas anyone, btw I am running Win 7 x64 Utlimate.

Thanks

OK - maybe there was fault with the programming the latest batch before I sent them out. I won't ship anymore before I check them.

It is perfectly safe to reprogram them in the mini tune board - I am away today but Colin KLB has all the details and will post how to do it.

No problem if you would rather send the unit back....

Hi Brian, The FT2232H was purchased by myself from the manufacturer, so it came unprogrammed. I did follow the programming advice on the Tutoiune website and it did appear to work as predicted. The only difference is that it came up as Device 1 in FT_PROG rather than 0. I have lots of USB things connected to that machine so I am not sure what bit of kit Device 0 is, I'll have to start unplugging things to see if I can find out what it is. Even worse I have also had lots of different things connected in the past and I have had some driver clashes, so maybe there are issues there.

Maybe I need to find a relatively unpolluted machine and try it on there.

Cheers

Sorry all, it appears that it is my computer that is the issue.

Having moved over to a relatively new build window 7 laptop I find that everything works fine.

Sorry to have raised a false alarm.

Terry

Thanks to all for their hard work on getting this kit together for members. Having built mine I'm having some problems getting a video stream on VLC.
I've tried every option for selecting the video stream but still no joy.
I've done a couple of screen dumps and wondered if anyone can throw any light on the issue.
All help appreciated.

You seem to have bytes received bottom right. Does that continue to increase? It is possible to have 8 green lights and still have a problem with connections on the pcb with the parallel bus to the FT2232H. I was helping a local over the phone and he was getting 8 greens - but the 74HC10 wasn't fitted.

ISS should be unticked, but I don't think that's a problem.

Can you click the Record button and check that a file appears in the MiniTioune folder. Try to play that with VLC. Post it on here and we can have a look at it.

I can't see anything untoward. Which Windows is that? It could possibly be a firewall problem.

After selecting the network stream in VLC, does the play button at the bottom left of VLC change to a pause button? If not, VLC is not receiving anything.

Ignore my comment about the ISS button. I can see that it is not ticked.

Brian
