Sat-link sat finders

Has anyone had any experience of the Sat-link sat finders, in particular this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-Stock-Satl ... 2c86e8a90a

They look ideal as a DATV rxr – this particular model decodes MPEG2 and 4, DVB-T and S on UHF and L band and has various spectrum and constellation displays including MER readings which are available on the HDMI / comp video output. And it runs off 12volts....

Just found "user manual" and it covers 48 - 862 MHz and 950-2150, but of course it uses separate DVB-T and DVB-S tuners so won't do DVB-S on 437

Hi Noel, yes that was to be expected I suppose.

The only real complaint I have about my Satlink is that it is not fussy about the quality of the
transport stream which means it will decode malformed transport streams that a normal
STB won't. That is fine for end users but less so for developers.

Mine is a few years old now and I am starting to get clicks/hum on the audio that was
not there when it was new. After 3 years use the battery still holds it's charge.

Three of us up here in Bristol have the basic WS-6906 model, which is only about £65 on Amazon. It seems a very sensitive receiver and the battery life is very good. It also has video in, so you can use it as portable monitor for an analogue receiver.

Yes, I have had one for a while, since September anyway. The interface is clunky and its deaf without a preamp on tge satellite tuner due to not unreasonably expecting an lnb rather than antenna to be connected but it does work. Even HD. The UHF tuner can be made to work on 70cms but not 23cms. It does dvbt on uhf and dvbs on shf and you cant swap so it needs a converter. The range of symbol rates for dvbt is limited to the common ones.

i have this one but not worked out how to turn off the lnb volts output ...????????

I don't think you can switch it off, but just change from 13 to 18V depending on which polarity you select. You'll need to use a dc blocker if you don't need it. Shaun.

Yes you can turn off the 13/18V. Its in the satellite settings helpfully called polarisation. It cycles 0/13/18V
