Problems getting VMix DATVEasy Pluto to work
Pluto works with Portsdown4. Now trying a different "system", no PD4 involved.
VMix appears to work ok. DATVEasy 3.08. I've followed the instructions as far as I can.
The problem may stem from me using a 172.17.0.x network, rather than 192.168.2.x
However, My router has both networks enabled in the LAN settings with inter LAN routing set.
What I'm struggling with is ip addresses in the Pluto and DATVEasy, so would appreciate advice from anyone who has a similar (i.e. different networks) setup.
The alternative would be to find a PC that I can set on the 192 network.

Probably best to post a screen shot of what Advanced IP Scanner shows and how you have the config.txt in the Pluto boot menu configured. Sometimes using a dedicated PC for stuff like DATV is simplest.

I agree that using a dedicated PC with a 192.168.2 address is maybe the simplest way forward.
While taking some screen shots I have noticed something that I can't explain.
Photo of Pluto, powered, USB to ethernet adaptor (no Tx cable just for this photo.
I've noticed the IP scan shows "HP2024" 192.168.2.10 as "dead", but it does find 192.168.2.1
From the DATVEasy PDF, MQTT doesn't respond as suggested.
Pluto is set to
[NETWORK]
hostname = pluto
ipaddr = 192.168.2.1
ipaddr_host = 192.168.2.10
netmask = 255.255.255.0
[USB_ETHERNET]
ipaddr_eth = 192.168.2.100 (Pluto ip in DATVEasy)
netmask_eth = 255.255.255.0
gateway_eth = 192.168.2.111 (my router)

Oh my goodness - that Ethernet adaptor must use quite a bit of power and you are powering it from the Pluto OTG without a Y cable. I am astonished it works at all!

Wiring based on https://g3yjr.wordpress.com/2020/12/01/ ... -ethernet/
The pluto is powered from 5V.
The adaptor - how else can it be powered? There's no DC socket on the adaptor.

Re: Problems getting VMix DATVEasy Pluto to work
Its got so complex, I doubt we can get it to work. I would recommend removing the Ethernet adapter, its not necessary unless you want the Pluto some distance from the PC. Put the Pluto config to standard. Plug it into the PC USB and It will just work. Don't fret over the IP addressing.

Re: Problems getting VMix DATVEasy Pluto to work
Tony, the problem is my PC is on a 172 network, not 192.
Looks like I need a PC on 192 (and currently don't have one high enough spec to run VMix)

Using a Y-cable. That's the recommended way. The cable (e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/SquarezhenBo-S ... B0CPVH644V ) is used to power both pluto and ethernet adaptor.Rishtonite wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 3:33 pmWiring based on https://g3yjr.wordpress.com/2020/12/01/ ... -ethernet/
