I bought the IC905 primarily for its FMTV mode, I haven't tried any other modes and can't give an opinion on them.
I've tried the FMTV mode extensively and found deficiencies, ranging from missing special cables to incorrectly adjusted RF signal and modulation.
Anyone with any technical knowledge knows that the video signal is standardized at 75 ohm impedance and the audio signal at 600 ohms.
To avoid video signal loss ( especially in the 1-5 MHz range ), shielded 75 ohm cables should be used between the video source and the IC905 video input.
Shielded 600 ohm audio cables should also be used for the audio to avoid external interference.
The IC905 has a special or unusual pin assignment for the audio-video input and output. ( Note: ICOM does not supply or offer these cables as accessories )
The customer's only option is to purchase a cable themselves !
I bought nine different 4-pin audio-video cables, but unfortunately, none of them have the correct impedance, are properly shielded, or properly polled. It's all just a customer scam.
Below are pictures of high-quality AV cables made in Germany.
However, if you use such cables, don't be surprised if the transmitted or received image is a bit blurry, or if there are interferences in the sound
( you're using unshielded cables !! - appearance doesn't indicate quality ).

My recommendation: make your IN-OUT AV cable yourself with the correct impedances or have someone else do it correctly,
only then will you be satisfied with the picture and audio quality, especially if ICOM makes small software changes to the video frequency response.
Or even better, put pressure on all parties involved ( seller and ICOM ) and demand original ICOM AV cable ( supplied as an accessory )

In such cases it is often far better to make your own cables, with quality connectors and coax.
