Re: PicoTuneWH - firmware for the PicoTuner with a Pico Ethernet module.
Hi Colin,
thanks for your quick reply on this one, and yes what happening I now
can confirm that it still running the previous version loaded.
So it looks like i'm a bit stuck for the moment if i want to use
the ethernet connector.
Have not seen any source code avialable on line for the ethernet version
not sure if its just a matter of re-compile for both platforms or involves more
indepth programming to make it work on the new Pico2 .
Hope this can be fixed in the future.

Re: PicoTuneWH - firmware for the PicoTuner with a Pico Ethernet module.
If the module you are using just has the newer RP chip and the ethernet part is the same then it should only need to be recompiled for the new chip. However if there are any other hardware differences then it is a larger task.
Brian is probably the person to answer that.
Colin.

Re: PicoTuneWH - firmware for the PicoTuner with a Pico Ethernet module.
As long as they are still available best stick with the already supported hardware. Don't buy something else and hope it might get support, that's putting a significant burden on the original developer. These boards have new versions released very often and it would be a significant overhead to continue support the latest iteration each time, especially because it probably means the developer getting hold of that newer hardware in order to test it works.
Also, if you know you want to build something, don't wait to order the parts. The pace of electronics development is such that we have found to our cost that things often become unavailable. BATC try to mitigate this, e.g. the last time purchase of tuners, but you will often find things like Plutos, FTDI modules, voltage regulators or 74HC10s go out of stock at the suppliers resulting in unfinished projects waiting for parts.

Re: PicoTuneWH - firmware for the PicoTuner with a Pico Ethernet module.
Thanks for insight,
currently all version ethernet boards seems to be available its just me ordering
the wrong one.
But as far is can see de GPIO pin wiring is the same as for the other models
and the reference material supplied by Wiznet seems to be for all versions
the same (did not check every document).
So with a bit of luck its just recompile from source.
I can find the source for the standard USB version but no references
to the ethernet versions.
Are they available elswere or whom should i contact and ask.

Re: PicoTuneWH - firmware for the PicoTuner with a Pico Ethernet module.
Hi Rens
I don't think the ethernet source is available. It was written by Brian G4EWJ specifically for the WIZnet W5100S-EVB-Pico or W5500-EVB-Pico. It works incredibly well and reliably. See https://wiki.batc.org.uk/PicoTuner_Ethernet_Interface
The latest firmware is here https://wiki.batc.org.uk/images/d/d6/Pi ... 3e_UF2.zip - have a look at the readme file, it will help.
I should add, not software related but some of the Wiznet modules are different physically and will not fit in the case properly.

Thanks Mike,
somehow i overlooked the readme. Contacted Brian G4EWJ.
Furthermore I can confirm that the W5500-EVB-Pico2 has same form
factor as the W5500-EVB-Pico and fits on the PicoTuner board, al pinouts
are labeled the same.
