Signals strength seemed similar to immediately after switch-on to me.

Thanks Dave. I will check the tracking next week ( too cloudy today ) and measure the Sun Noise again.

Hi all,
unfortunately in the UK at least, the same band that the ISS downlink uses is also used for mobile phone communications and I have 3 masts within 2km of my house. The snap shot shows a max-hold display over about 20seconds, the output being from my S-band LNB, with the reference level at-20dBm. In addition, the top end of the spectrum display shows the local WiFi signals. Good front-end linearity is advised but a TDD signal appearing on top of the ISS downlink is always a possibility. The ISS downlink is usually centered at 1555MHz on my display, as shown below.

Having said that, reception was good yesterday.

Liborio,

In case you were wondering, the ISS pass at 08.46 BST in the UK showed the ISS Tx functioning. This would have been your pass at approx. 08.07.

Jen - what are the vertical graticule calibration squares ? 5dB per square making the signal 15dB above the noise floor?
I will try and do a screen shot at the 10:17 pass today.

Thanks Jen for the info.
I checked the Sun tracking and it was spot on also the Sun Noise measurement was the same at 2.5dB.
The 10:17 pass today was the strongest I've ever received it at D9 MER 10.2. The only difference to the setup was I had the Nooelec converter in circuit to down convert to 895Mz so I could monitor the signal as the ISS passed. I did'nt see any interference on 2395Mhz but there was some strong signals further up the band so a Filter at a later date, might improve the lock time of the receiver.
Anyway happy with the results today, the signal was about 11dB above the noise floor on a 75 deg max elevation. Why I got such poor results on Wednessday I just don't know.

Guys, after six days I managed to get some reception, getting a D3 with a decoded signal.
Setup used: 80 cm fixed dish + 30 dB LNA.

Hi everyone,

3rd Rx of HamTv from ISS today.Same setup, QO-100 13cm patch antena as a feed, 120cm PF dish , 36db gain DG0VE LNA, 35mts of Sat coax cable,
Minitiouner V2 Pro.

The pass started at 14:32:44 with 58º max elev north-east to soth-east, starting decoding video at about 25º of elevation for about 4 min with ups and downs , max Mer was 12 , D9.

Weather was bloddy 36º hot ...

I also measured the tracking accuracy poiting to the sun , nearly hitting the target in the middle of the dish...

Hi all,

Reception today was interesting as 2 dropouts were seen during an otherwise very strong pass. One can only conclude that this was possibly due to mobile phone interference arising from nearby masts, as spikes can often be seen dancing up and down the spectrum.

Parameters: 09.35 BST, 90cm prime focus dish with a POTY feed and S-band LNB, 83 degrees elevation, static pointed North.
Time Rx locked (apart from brief drop-outs) 20s, with video for about 17s.
Wx slight drizzle at 16C.
Max signal D15.

Note that the Spectrum Analyser clock is incorrect. If anyone can tell me how to change it easily, I'd be interested to hear.

Minitiouner V2 Pro.

A pass with 74º max elev north-east to south-east, starting decoding video at about 30º of elevation for about 5 min, with less ups and downs than yesterday.

Maximun signal strength was Mer 18 - D16 , the hiest of all tracked passes.

Weather was pleasent fresh 25º
