Hi John,
Try changing the USB lead.
You may be using one that only delivers the power.

It sounds like it may need an attempt with JTAG and the Xilinx software to try and resurrect it. It's a tricky route but has worked for me a couple of times. Some investment in hardware is needed, but not software. The info is there on the Analog Devices forums.

Good morning,
I have tried using two USB leads, not difference.
Device Manager, under Universal Serial Bus Controller, No hint of Pluto.
The strange thing is from a network point of view it all looks OK.
Is it possible to install all types of programs via SSH?
Hopefully I won't have to go down the jtag? route .
Thank for all your answers,
John

If I recall correctly, and you are logged in to the Pluto via ssh, you can download firmware directly onto the Pluto using the wget command.

In fact, it's also possible to copy local files on your PC to the Pluto using the scp command.

Does that mean that not having a working USB connection is no big deal?

I still think your problem is drivers on the PC. If it works with the ethernet adapter then the Pluto is fine. You don't need to use USB on the PC unless you need to.

Have you tried connecting this Pluto to a Portsdown? If not, I'll move the topic to the "Digital ATV" section of the forum.
