DATV-Easy with Portsdown/Langstone.
Hi all,
Having only one Pluto which is in my Portsdown/Langstone combo and currently using IPTS in from OBS and Freestreamcoder, I'm looking to move to H265 with DATV-Easy so have an ethernet adaptor to allow both PC and Portsdown to access the Pluto. Will I be able to get DATV-Easy working with the "for the brave" firmware, if so which setting do I need to use? I see stock firmware, 0201 and 0303 options but nothing for the firmware required by the Portsdown/Langstone.

...are you sure I can't use a pair of 813's?...

Re: DATV-Easy with Portsdown/Langstone.
Hi Dave,
0303 is best for TV but not sure the Langstone will be happy. It might work in passthrough mode, try it.
There is a Wiki https://wiki.microwavers.org.uk/Langstone_Project but it doesn't mention firmware. The assumption is therefore it works with the stock firmware.

Thanks Mike, doesn't the Portsdown only work with "for the brave"? There may be occasions when it will be used without the PC.

Yes, I'm awkward!

Re: DATV-Easy with Portsdown/Langstone.
If you set easy for 0201 it should work with all older versions.
0303 is great for datv with improved rolloff and small sr..
But for normal tx datv 0201 firmware should work.
But portsdown really likes the " for the brave"

Thanks Benno,
I now have my Pluto connected by ethernet and my Portsdown can check firmware and cpu's no problem, but it won't transmit. Using DATV-Easy with OBS the Pluto GPIO relay goes to TX when 0201 is selected, but once again no transmit. I may be totally on the wrong track but an IT friend of mine suggested using Zenmap to check the ports on the Pluto ethernet IP, neither 7272 or 8282 appear as open? I may be looking in the wrong direction but I'm totally lost on this one.
Edited to say Langstone is working fine over ethernet.

Re: DATV-Easy with Portsdown/Langstone.
Well, made a little progress. By deleting the "default gateway" entry in the Pluto config.txt the Portsdown is now transmitting, both natively (test card) and via IPTS in from OBS and Freestreamcoder. DATV-Easy v2.12 however is still not working direct to the Pluto via ethernet.

Re: DATV-Easy with Portsdown/Langstone.
More progress, not there yet but...
Having downloaded v2.16 I've been experimenting and have found that if I select stock firmware for the Pluto in the DATV-Easy settingsI can get it to transmit both H264 and H265. At first I was getting a weird spike at the top of my signal but shutting DATV-Easy down and starting again that disappeared? Now I'm getting dropout on my signal, the rf seems constant so I'm guessing I'm getting some data log jam somewhere as it is less frequent with 1/2 FEC and the corresponding bitrate, Freestreamcoder is quite happy at higher bitrates so I'm guessing software more than hardware. I'll keep experimenting.
