Re: Portsdown 4
Yes. You need to enter the key in the console via SSH. Login with putty or similar, Initiate the gui, menu. Then you can use the BATC stream output. Best use a wired connection to the internet

console
console
Re: Portsdown 4
Ok, so gui is menu to me but all working now is there a reason you have enter info in the menu, and not from touch screen?

Re: Portsdown 4
Hi Brian
Good, where are you streaming to?
The problem with using the touch screen is the keyboard and the amount of development work it would need. Also the original method was this, ncurses https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ncurses and the touch screen came later. Dave has done a fantastic job making this so much more accessible, but occasionally the command line is required. The text mode 'gui' that you see is like a menu system from the 80,s but even now 40 years later, sometimes you need to be familiar with the console. It makes it easier with menus that look like windows but it really a text mode interface.
Mike
Edit - PS, you might be able to enter this via the touch screen, I always use the menu because it is so much easier than an on-screen keyboard.

Re: Portsdown 4
Unless you can find a Lime second hand, your TX choice is currently limited to the Pluto. There is a new Lime in the works, but it is expensive. For a camera, the C920 is good, but don't forget the PI Camera is also an option. Don't just go and buy a webcam and expect it to work.
The C920 is often available non-working and it's often because the USB lead is broken. The Polycom Eagle Eye mini is also supported and has been known to turn up on Ebay cheaply. It does not have audio and prices have risen from bargain basement levels since it was found to be useful.
There are other options, mostly more complicated/prone to issues. If you don't care much about image resolution you can use an old PAL camcorder and a compatible Easycam video capture dongle, if you can find one. That's a bit fraught because identical looking dongles often contain different incompatible hardware. You can guess what the laws of chance might do here. Developers will always receive working units, beginners ordering the same unit from the same supplier at the same time will receive incompatible ones.
The same applies to HDMI capture dongles. The only known to work and supported HDMI dongle is the Elgato which is £99. There are £10 dongles, some work sometimes, some don't work at all.
Finally, if you have a laptop or PC with a webcam, you can stream from that to the PD4 with the IPTS in option. That's got to be set up so I would advise against that for now.

Re: Portsdown 4
Thanks Mike,
just as a last question which version of the c920 do I need, there seems to be a few different type numbers.

Re: Portsdown 4
Actually, all the streaming config can be done from the touch screen:
