Portsdown 4 and OBS Virtual camera

Post by HB9DUG » Sat Oct 03, 2020 10:17 am

Hello Dave,

In the latest OBS Studio 26.0.0 release, Virtual Camera is now standard like Start Streaming and Recording. It could be a nice source for Portsdown 4, alloying us to attach any sources supported by OBS !

... and for you, only one source to code for this "All-in-one source" ;)

Interesting idea Michel

I'll need to do some investigation first as to the best way to implement it, but will add it to the to-do list.

Take care - the built in virtual camera does not provide an audio stream. You will need to find a solution to that that keeps the video and audio in sync. In my view, the built in virtual camera is useless for most applications without audio. Fortunately the plugin version still works.

Hi Alain

The new virtual camera built into OBS does not have the audio - that was included with the virtual camera plugin. The way around this is to use a virtual audio cable to just keep using the old plugin as it still works fine.
