Teletext as testcard alternative

While thinking about options for standby content and testcards I remembered that there was a Teletext emulator.. This led me down the rabbit hole of 'what if I were to have the source switch to a ceefax generator with rotating pages of information such as weather, events, news, repeater info, nets, etc?'
I understand that this may not be possible within the Portsdown software but what about on an external RPi Zero as a video source or IPTS source?
