I have a Modero NXD-CV7 / NXT-CV7 Touch Panel sitting here and it has a 7inch touch screen. I also have a 7inch Portsdown with a broken edge to the screen although it still works.
I have taken the NXT CV7 to bits just a bit and it looks like it would be quite possible to mount the screen from the Portsdown into the NXT CV7 and the RPi into the base. That would make a rather nice desktop display with the usb bits elsewhere (in a box underneath?)
These devices are oldish now and appear on Ebay etc. but I also have AMX systems that I use for video switching etc. (AMX 3155 ) so have not jumped in yet.
Going price at £65 seems a lot for a case but there may be cheaper sources.

PS I'll update if I decide to jump in with the mod.
Table top Posh box for 7inch Portsdown?
Re: Table top Posh box for 7inch Portsdown?
So I have taken the plunge and put the 7 inch touchscreen and Raspberry Pi into the AMX NXT CV7 case. The job was easier than I thought and the screen fitted well. The only problem was the short ribbon cable between screen and RPi, but I had a longer one on a RPi camera so used that. There is a speaker (in fact two ) left in the case and the RPi camera also fitted in.

When support for Adobe Flash expires soon there may well be lots of the AMX video type equipment coming onto the market so if you are after a case like this don't spend a fortune. I reckon £30 at most.
And if you have some old AMX video selection equipment that uses flash to set it up it may be worth checking you have a computer that will keep running flash after 2020 (may need to alter the clock? )
