Re: hackrf one
The only way I can think of you using it is with GNURadio as that supports both DVB-S2 and the hackrf.
You could always write your own code I suppose.
No I won't be adding it to Express although people do ask.
It was really designed as a hackers toy (for intercepting keyfobs and the like) and I have a feeling that
it's RF ouput may not be that clean.

Re: hackrf one
The HackRF was ground breaking it it's day. It seemed to have a bigger backing in the infosec / hacker community than it did in the Ham one.
Glad I got my Pluto before the fall in the pound and the Analog devices end of the student discount.
I have not done the TCXO mod on mine but as my new project will require the extra stability I may well do it.
I think Colin G4KLB has been trying out different TCXOs.

Re: hackrf one
I believe that is the same part as
https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/ ... MqEALw_wcB
Which are £3.08 each.
I just need to find some other goodies to buy to get the value up for free shipping

Re: hackrf one
I need one of those TCXOs too - unfortunately they were not in stock for my last order so I have got a voltage tunable one which was in stock. That's OK but the tuning voltage needs extra parts and potentially extra drift and noise if you use the Vcc pin for that. Trimming of the offset is not required for the Pluto as it can be done in the software. The tuning pin can be connected to ground, but than the frequency is off more than it should be. Definitely don't leave the tuning pin floating.
