Pipo Auto Boot

Post by G8DKC » Sun Apr 21, 2019 2:10 pm

Now I'm starting to use MiniTioune remotely, leaving the Q-O-100 equipment at base.
1.2M dish on boat, swaying in the breez? How to re-boot the Pipo when it on rare occassions hangs :-)
After spending the morning the old way with relays capacitors trying to autopress the start button.
The power has to be on first! The button press next, you cannot short out button press and just switch on...

Had one of these in stock, 12v 555 timer buy 5, for £4.42 wait a month, etc ( 323494845501 ).

The blue and red 12v in from back of socket to timer, pink about 2 volts, and blue is ground, comes from the push switch,
via a 2,200uf 25v, capacitor, -ve end to blue wire, +ve to relay Common, pink wire from switch to NO contact.
Set the timer to about 3-4 Seconds, the button press, hold capacitor needs to provide about the same.
The resistor accross capacitor is 4.7K.

Now if mains goes off, or like me use network mains switch if Vnc fails, the Pipo comes right back on.
