SR2000+ seems to not work
SR2000+ seems to not work
Help appreciated with my portsdown seeming not to work above an SR of 1000.
Simple explanation, everything seems to work OK when I set the SR to 125, 333, and 1000. When I up it to 2000 or 4000 I'm unable to receive anything.
Set-up...
New Porstsdown set as follows (other frequencies / settings seem to cause the same issue.)
CamH264
FEC 2/3
SR 2000
437MHZ
Minitoner
SR same as portsdown
Frequency same as portsdown
LOW SR tried on and off
At SR1000 I get 100% carrier lock, 100% Timing lock, RF pw -50dBm, sn MER 12dB, V ber 10% /12%
At SR2000 I get 70%-100% carrier lock, bouncing around 5% Timing lock, RF pw -56dBm, sn MER 6dB, V ber greyed out as no signal.
Not, my readily available test kit is limited to a DVM.

Check the LSB and MSB settings are correct - see the Wiki on commissioning the filter modulator board. D0, D1 and D2 on J2

Re: SR2000+ seems to not work
Thanks G0MJW that was 'interesting'.
D01 and D02 are constantly high with D0 constantly low for all SR settings. That's with or without the filter board connected to it. But still, according to my minitunor, it still works ok below an SR of 125, 333 and 1000.
I have searched the wiki but can't see anything about commissioning. Do you have a link to it or a way to find it? (cancel that, I think I found it)
I have found that 1.2gig also seems to not work whilst 146MHZ does. Not sure if these are connected or different issues.

Re: SR2000+ seems to not work
Solved!
The unit was in ugly mode and should have been in IQ mode.
It now all looks to be working just fine.
Thanks for the pointer G0MJW. It was just enough to get me thinking a different way and connecting it up the the network.

Re: SR2000+ seems to not work
I have the same issue than biker_bob, on 437 Mhz, low SR are functionning very well, a local control with Minitiouner show that Portsdown is well functionning, with a good constellation, video, FEC etc. But as soon I switch to SR superior or equal to 1000, I have the SR led in minitioune green but carrier is unstable, S/N mer low, FEC led red. In my area we have a relay receiving 437 Mhz with SR 1500 and of course nothing go though.
I suspect that the command for the Nyquist filters (used for high SR) is in cause. Have you an advice to check U23 and may be U7, U8,U9,U10. although u10 and u9 appear to be in order as Q-DG and I-DG are well switched to Q-FO and I-FO when low SR are chosen.
Any idea.
Thanks

Re: SR2000+ seems to not work
Hi Bernard
Please can you tell me:
Which video source you are using? (CAMMPEG2, camh264, pattern?)
Which output mode? (IQ, DATV Express?)
With 2MS selected and transmitting, what are the voltages on J02 pins 1, 2, 3, and 4?
Dave

Re: SR2000+ seems to not work
Thanks Dave.
I use CAMMPEG2 but it same with Pattern
Mode IQ
On JO2 when high = 3.3v; I checked for exemple SR 1000 only pin 4 is high which is normal.
Thanks your help
During my last trial i also noted that the visual on my screen is very small in the top left corner with the BATC pattern( CAMMPEG2), I lost the full screen ?? What's the matter HI!

OK
Please can you try it without the HDMI display? The use of an HDMI display causes timing issues and may be the cause of your problem. It is certainly the reason that you only have a small viewfinder image.
