3.5" screen note

Post by biker_bob » Wed Jun 21, 2017 6:06 pm

In short, have a care when / if making a screen holder.

Just a note to anyone mounting the 3.5" touch screen. Having made a nice holder for my screen I found that the display is not central to the outside edge.
I made the holder to just cover around 3mm of the front of the screen and find that the left side is definitely missing some of the on screen image whilst the right side has around 3mm of dead space.

Not an issue for functionality or the like, just aesthetically not as nice as I'd have liked. I may make a new one at some point, just not now as I'm just trying to get it all together and working for now. I guess if I'd studied and measured the screen when it was turned on and working I might have avoided this issue.

I'm not sure if this applies to all of them so just check your's first.

Thanks Bob

All the screens that I have seen have this offset. The holder looks good despite the offset. Is it 3D printed?
