LCD Touchscreen
LCD Touchscreen
Hi Guys .... I have run up the SD card for Portsdown Tx. running on RasPi 3. The colours on the 3.5 touchscreen monitor are Yellow instead of Blue and Purple instead of Green. TX On goes to Blue instead of Red. Any clues or has a faulty screen come my way? 73 Tony G0AZQ.

Hi Tony
Haven't heard of that one before. Sounds like a faulty screen. Where did you purchase it from?
Could you try it with a different program?

Re: LCD Touchscreen
Hi Dave .... Got it sussed. Think it was a driver problem. The display, purchased from Waveshare, is a Model B and I think the Portsdown software is configured for Model A. I do a lot of thinking !!!!
After SSH to RasPi and running ./LCD35B-show it rebooted and colours are now correct. All good fun. The ADF4351 arrived this morning so now waiting for PCB !! 73 Tony G0AZQ.

Re: LCD Touchscreen
I had a spare sd card here so loaded the Raspbian with driver as was on the driver disk with the LCD screen and yup same issue so guess its a stuffed screen, ordered another. Unfortunately one of the down side of living in the Pacific is it can take ages for the mail.....in saying that all my packages from BATC have arrived normally within 7 days

Re: LCD Touchscreen
Hi all,
My touch screen touch element doesn't work reliably - sometimes not at all. The display is fine but unreasonable pressure is needed to make the touch respond and sometimes even that isn't enough. I am assuming its faulty, I contacted the Amazon seller, the one recommended, and they denied it. Too much hassle to deal with so never buying from there again!
However, it would be simple enough to use a mouse if it were supported? Actually more useful for me. Is that possible?

Re: LCD Touchscreen
Hi Mike
I take it that you have removed the protective film and are using the supplied stylus? The resistive screen is designed for a hard object, not a finger.
Unfortunately, a mouse is not an option as there is an incompatibility between the gui environment required for the mouse and some of Evariste's software.

Re: LCD Touchscreen
Hi Dave,
Yes I have removed the protective film and used the supplied stylus. No go - this screen isn't very good, be better if we had used the Adafruit range as they seem to be better. Hopefully Evariste can fix his software as otherwise its back to a console.

Which Adafruit screen do you want to support? It would need to be 480x320 for compatibility. I would like to help you by putting it in the menu and supporting it once you have identified the correct driver (as I have already done for the Waveshare B).
Evariste does not need to fix his software. It's simply not designed to work with a GUI.
