New Software Release

I've just issued a new release 201703060 that introduces the capability to configure the preset frequencies and SRs on the touchscreen, so you can change the buttons. Note that you must restart the touchscreen to see the changes.

The release also allows you to "factory reset" the configuration, and save and load a configuration using a USB memory stick. The French installation option has been repaired (although I still have a lot of work to do on translation), and the Console Menu command is added to the Bash history during fresh installs (so you use the up arrow instead of typing the command if you end up at the command line).

Please upgrade if you want any of these features, but the basic performance of the transmitter is unchanged.

What is more important is to get the transmitter on the air during the Activity Weekend - THIS WEEKEND!

New Software Release

I've just issued a new release 201704030. The major change is that on initial build or subsequent update all the Linux packages are updated to the latest release. In terms of capability, I have added the facility to display Contest Numbers directly from the Console Menu (although not from the touchscreen yet), made the IPTS input mode usable and prepared for the addition of German language menus.

It is now possible to feed pictures to the Portsdown TX from vMix using the IPTS input mode so that you can have a completely digital video processing chain. This capability is still being expanded and documented; you can see the latest instructions here https://wiki.batc.tv/Feeding_Video_to_P ... _from_vMix. Thanks to Chris MW0LLK for his assistance on this.

Please post here if you experience any problems with the new release.

New Software Release

I've just issued a new release 201704050. This is a bugfix for 201704030, and makes sure that the all the software on the RPi is up to date with the latest versions available. 201704030 checked the versions against an old list. Sorry!

If you have built version 201704030 from a new disk image, you do not need to upgrade. However, if you upgraded to 201704030 from a previous version, or have not upgraded recently, I suggest that you upgrade. Do be aware that the upgrade may take 10 minutes or so to complete.

Please post here if you experience any problems with the new release.

I successfully logged into the software as per noels video ..and set the screen up ok .
On trying to re access the menu I get a screen on the pc , which gives data of the set up ...I can't get back to the menu
Any clues ??
The pi boots up in touchscreen mode and seems to work but can't get into the menu screen on the pc

Hi Steve

Press control and C together and you should get a Linux command prompt. Then type

Code: Select all

/home/pi/rpidatv/scripts/menu.sh menu
The touchscreen will stop and you will get the console menu. You can't have them both at once.

Problem solved by copy and paste the link you gave Dave ....typing it in said file doesn't exist.

Had read the wiki section on doing this .....

God knows how I am going to get on with the minitoune software installation :)
