Alford slot for DATV repeater ?

Post by G4WIM » Wed Mar 23, 2016 7:09 pm

Hi guys,

attempting to collect a number of items for a DATV station which may evolve into a repeater.

Was wondering if anyone had an Alford slot or similar antenna they'd like to part with ?

Also looking for a DATV receiver with a good signal indicator output.

If you've got anything else which maybe useful which you no longer want, please let me know.

My e mail address is on my qrz.com page.

If you can look after Tim G4WIM first.

I would pay good money if someone who has young and or steady hands, and could build one on 1249Mhz and one on 1322Mhz.

Lawn and garden tidying can be done if local :-)

It would be a great help.

Fitting PMR mobiles before we had battery screwdrivers has caught up with me...

Thank you for your replies, Terry & Charles.

I managed to get an email back from Stuart a year or so back after several tries, he said he had some items left in stock,
I said ok what can you help me with? Never had a reply, tried several more times.
Have sent Email today just to see, if he is still in Tamworth that is about an hour from me at the most.
May just go over a make discreet enquiries.

Hi All,

We may have the answer for GB3ET.
John M1CNJ has the kit to have a go at cutting slots, he says he is not looking for orders.
You never know what he may suggest in the future, someone to slot the tube would be a start?
But the main thing is to build the slots and get them on frequency.
Will keep you up todate on his progress.

Stuart Marshall has a few email addresses and I've bought quite a few bits from him including an Alford slot for the local repeater here. I've sent you 3 of his email addresses by PM, I usually send to all of them.

Hi guys,

been a little busy recently so not had chance to catch up on this topic.
I appreciate all the leads and tips with respect to antenna and will definitely be following up.

Turns out I have tried to contact G6NHG via e mail but I think it went to a defunct e mail address (the one on his website?).

In the short term I have discovered a half sized alford slot I forgot I had and it appears to work - but if we get GB3FT approved (big if) then something a little more 'gainy' will be in order.
