Evening all,
I am about to embark on the QO100 journey. I have most of the kit needed but am struggling to find a suitable PSU for my amplifier. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a suitable 28v 25a+ psu.
any help will be much appreciated

QO100 help
Re: QO100 help
This is what I use for a trouble free very high quality supply, When I had a small dish and needed a big amplifier the Tiger was great and is now repurposed for another very high demand job. I can't rate these highly enough. Tiger have UK tech assistance by phone and their build quality is superb. They are RF quiet, run cool and their ratings are genuine. The only other high amperage switch modes I'd be 100 percent confident with wold be TDK-Lambda ones. You get what you pay for.

These can be adjusted smoothly up and down from 27 volts so should be perfect.
They also have a very smooth 5 volt at 2 amps auxiliary output which mght be handy.
Buy cheap overrated Cinese junk SMPS's off eBay at your peril. When they blow and you find they have no over voltage protection you might lose an expensive amp....
Good luck!

Re: QO100 help
Nice find - and it has a proper data sheet. I see they also do 1.5kW versions from 12V to 54V for those more demanding amplifiers.

Yes,, they are superb, and when I had a query I easily got put through to a proper engineer who understodd all aspects of these supplies, not just put through to a glorified salesman. Farnell / CPC only keep a couple on the shelf, but when I wanted a second one and they showed no stock they seemed to get more quite quickly. I don't know if RS are now selling them.
In the motorsport world I always do a quick test if buying something expensive. Before buying I ring the manufacturer or distributor with some bogus questions and also ask for what will probably be a commonly needed spare or spares. God knows how many times I have saved a headache by finding out in advance that spares take 12 months and the support is virtually none existent. If they answer the phone at all and don't direct you to some web site...
