Quadrant DTX1 transmitter

Post by Pd0hni » Sat Aug 03, 2024 9:00 am

Hello,
A few years ago I bought 2x Quadrant DTX1 transmitters.
Everything works satisfactorily.
Now I would like to know what the second print (daughterboard) is for.
The description is not entirely clear to me.
Who can explain to me what this is for.

Kind regards
Jan / Pd0hni

Hi Jan

The daughter board allows you to run a second, independent, programme on the same transmission.

You would have to set up Video and Audio PIDs for the second programme that are different to the primary programme's PID settings. Usually, amateurs use Video PID = 256 and Audio = 257 (decimal), so Video PID = 1000 and Audio PID = 1001 could be used for the second programme for example.

Bear in mind that the data rate set in the DTX1 modulator settings will be shared between both programmes, so you may need to use a higher symbol rate to maintain the same picture quality.

Hi Clive,

Thank you for your response.
I was not sure about this board.
I don't think I will use it.

Thanks anyway.
