Display 3.5 inch Portsdown

Post by Patrick » Thu Aug 13, 2020 6:47 am

hello.
with my last SD card from Portsdown 2020 Buster, the images received from QO100 are in 16/9 eme.
I couldn't find the possibility of receiving them in 4/3.
Is that possible ?
thank you.

Hi Patrick

In a word, No.

VLC is used for the receiver display. I have not found a way to change its behavior with Buster Lite, so it currently displays all pictures with the correct pixel aspect ratio. So 16:9 signals viewed on a 4:3 display will have black lines top and bottom. If someone was to transmit a 4:3 signal on QO-100 it would look correct.

Most of the pictures on QO-100 are originally 16:9.

If you were to use a 7 inch touchscreen display, you would find that 16:9 signals almost fill the display, but 4:3 signals have black lines at the sides.
