DG0VE atv converter 70cms
Anyone have any experience of using the DG0VE 70cms to 23/24 cms RX converter and what results they had .
I am intending to fit one at the masthead close to the 18ele powerbeam 70cms yagi
Has a low nf of about 0.5 DB so should work well ??
Any comments gratefully received

I have one, although it hasn't had much use. It's generally very well regarded.

Re: DG0VE atv converter 70cms
Hi I have used one of these and have been very impressed with the results. Whilst they clearly cost more than the SUP2400, which requires fiddly modifications to be carried out, it does not need any preamplifier previous to that as it already has enough gain, and has a low noise figure. I'd say well worth the extra expense.

Re: DG0VE atv converter 70cms
I borrowed one having a 70cm yagi aerial.
It out performed the USB up-converter which suffered from other large signals around 70cm. The DG0VE worked extremely well testing with two stations 35km and 67km away from me over a period of several weeks even down to a few milliwatts worked. That was until the I ran 144mhz SSB-CW in a UKAC contest and overloaded the front end with RF destroying the first RF stage. A new one was ordered from Roberto and fitted together with a schottky diode mod suggested by him.
In this instance my 70cm aerial was only about eight inches above the 2m one and too much 144mhz RF came back down the feeder to the DG0VE ATV converter..
Beware of stray RF from other bands.. If you run two meters talkback even check whats coming down the 70cm feeder. A lesson learnt..
