Update.

In the instructions, some corrections have been made to the reception frequencies.

In the parts list, the Farnell part number for the 5v regulator was shown as the same as the 3.3v regulator. Apologies if you've already bought them. The other regulator part numbers are correct.

It is so frustrating that the kit was sold out so quickly, it was gone before I even knew it was available.

Any chance the shop could start a waiting list so that we don't have take pot luck as to whether we get one in the next lot, it would at least give a clue as whether we need to attempt to put all the components together ourself.

Next batch of 25 kits well under way, FT2232H sockets have had to be reordered as they came the wrong size :(
Everything else is bagged up ready to make into kits.
ETA middle of next week.
Will post here when they start there journey to the BATC Shop.

EDIT
To avoid delay have sourced another 50 FT2232H sockets from a different vendor, Rapid Electronics ... lets hope they live up to there name!

Need a little help: rx appears to be working can tune it, set symbol rate etc but cant stream to vlc. Also the packet counter in the bottom right isnt moving. So near yet so far. The test my tuner prog seems to give the impression all is working.
Any ideas?

Make sure that you have Windows Media Player installed as VLC isn't self contained.

Are you using MiniTioune v0.1g? I don't see a packet counter. TS err and Skipped Buffers should be zero.

Do you have 8 green lights in the lower panel, indicating full lock?

Have you pressed the UDP button?

Do you have 127.0.0.1 as the UDP address in minitioune.ini and are you using udp://@127.0.0.1 as the network stream address in VLC?

In VLC, does the play symbol bottom left change to the pause symbol after you enter the stream address?

There is a "bytes received counter" only for SR<=5000.
When you are receiving low SR under SR5000 you should see this counter changing the numbers of bytes received.

You should have your UDP address set to 127.0.0.1:1234 in minitioune.ini

In VLC, you ask for the stream :

try to ask:
udp://@:1234
or
udp://@127.0.0.1:1234
or
udp://@230.0.0.1:1234 ( even if you have the UDP address set at 127.0.0.1:1234)

that depends of your Windows/computer setup.

I was using a high symbol rate at the time - I thought it sounded familiar.

I've been running the MTK1 for 12 hours a day at high symbol rate for the last week. Temperature is subjective, but I would say that it gets very warm to a bit hot, but not so much that you can't touch the regulators.

I would be happy to keep running it without a heatsink. It's not in a box yet, so that would need good ventilation. The Pipo gets hot and there seems to be no way for the heat to escape upwards. If the Pipo sits on a box, a fan underneath the Pipo would be worthwhile.

The above all relates to high symbol rates - everything is cooler at DATV rates.

Noel will announce when the kits are available in the shop, so keep an eye on the BATC Shop thread close to the bottom of the board index. At this stage Friday has been mooted. :D
Suggest you start looking from Thursday to avoid disappointment!!!!
