I thought I had purchased an HVR-1900 but when it arrived it was the HVR-1975. The HVR-1900 was required for my Odroid-U3/D-ATV Express combination, the HVR-1975 does not appear to be supported in Linux although Hauppauge say drivers are available. So far the impression is they are not.
As a matter of interest, I plugged my Logitech C270 camera into the Odroid and it shows up on lsusb in LXTERM. I get no video though but it shows in the HW tab on D-ATV Express.
Has anyone got an HVR-1900 they want to sell?

Hi Andy,
The problem with the Linux drivers for the new HVR-1975 video capture card from Hauppauge is that the drivers are NOT yet delivered by the UBUNTU 14.04 operating system distribution...in the manner that the drivers for HVR-1900 are delivered. So far it is a very difficult/complex software task to compile the new HVR-1975 driver source code while recompiling the Ubuntu kernel source code.
One ham in the USA had the same problem last summer. He called Hauppauge on the phone, explained that a new model had been substituted in his order, explained what he was trying to do, and the nice people at Hauppauge said to send back the "wrong model" and then Hauppauge will ship him the older model that he had originally ordered (probably out of "spares" inventory?). And it all worked out for this ham.

Charles G4GUO also advised me, he lives about 3 miles from me. I have a PVR-150 in the main PC, but reason for getting D-ATV Express is my interest in portable operation.
I have written to Hauppauge USA so will see what they say. .Amazon marketed it as a 1900 and I received the 1975, similar situation. I have a Win TV PVR USB, not sure if that can be used, unfortunately my PC is 64 bit and this unit has 32 bit drivers and would not load.

We do have access to the driver source code but having signed the NDA we are limited in what we can say.
I believe Hauppauge were supposed to have released the source to the general public last July but I have
not seen any indication that they have.

Similar problem here. With the help of Rob, M0DTS and Charels G4GUO I have been successful with the PI and its built in camera in generating narrow band DATV using Charles pi server test software and my DATV express. That is te basis of a portable transmitter, it only uses about an amp at 5V plus whatever the transmitter amplifier needs. I also was successful with a fast laptop in generating video via ffmpeg.
I think my main problem now is going to be the receive side. I have a portable receiver (WS-6979) but it has quite a limited range of symbol rates compared to the TT-1600 and a user interface designed by goblins.

I have a PI b+ , I would like to use my Echostar receiver , I have a have 500 watt DC-AC converter for the car so no problem running that, want to use a Nokia Tetra 250 watt pa running at about 100 watts , so I might have to get a bigger DC-AC unit!
