small HDMI monitor

Post by G4GUO » Thu Oct 31, 2013 5:54 pm

I have been after something like this for a few months, might be of interest to others as small HDMI units are expensive.

I have been in communication with one of the guys behind it.
It uses 5 watts and runs off a 12v supply. Let's hope he can
raise the 55K to fund the project.

Looks good Charles, still some early bird offers when I pledged.
Kickstarter is a good idea, Just received my UDOO quad today, http://www.udoo.org/ shame I have to go to work, no time to play!
The monitor will work well on that as well.

The Freescale Quad devices are very nice. I have a board from boundary devices with one of those on it.
As far as the HDMI is concerned, they are starting to talk about a touch screen add on which would be nice.

Touch screen DATV portable transceiver is on the horizon I think.

The kickstarter one has a 9" screen, a smaller controller board, a case and 1280 x 800 screen resolution
for about £30 more. Although it does not have composite or VGA.

It would be interesting to see how they both perform when outdoors I expect some sort of hood will be required.

What sort of cd/m2 brightness figure do you need to use a screen outdoors?
