Hi All,

I'm having a problem with my PD4 IP address and Pluto.
When I request the Pluto firmware version through the PD menu, I don't get a version, but instead, I get a message that I need to install the latest version.
My Pluto has the latest version installed. It turns out the IP address 192.168.2.1 was being used by another device, so I changed it to 192.168.2.15 in both the PD and the Pluto.
Now, when I check the version, I get a message that there's no connection to the Pluto.
If I change the IP address in the PD back to 192.168.2.1, I get the message that I need to install the latest firmware version.
It seems the IP address in the Pluto hasn't been changed, even though it's set to 192.168.2.15 in the config.txt file.
Can anyone give me a hint as to what the problem is?
Thanks!

Hi Rob

How can it be being used by another device? The range 192.168.2.xxx should only be being used by the PD4 and Pluto USB connection. If you have it connected via ethernet, I can imagine all sorts of pain if your network is using 192.168.2.xxx on two different interfaces.

So - what is your network configuration?

Hi Rob

I think the issue is that your local LAN uses the 192.168.2.* address range (as does mine). This conflicts with the Pluto which defaults to 192.168.2.1 and gives clients 192.168.2.10.

The solution is to set the Pluto address to 192.168.4.1, and set the same address in the Portsdown. The Pluto will then allocate the address 192.168.4.10 to the Portsdown to use as a client of the Pluto.

Hi Dave,

That solves the problem! Many thanks.
Pluto is now working correct and is transmitting ;-)
