We have just been notified (this evening) that HamTV installation has been rescheduled for 1405 UTC (3:05 pm UK Local) on Tuesday 29 July.

I will open another Forum topic for reception reports; we have been asked to provide as many reports as possible during the first few weeks, so please let us know how you get on.

Confirm it is on at the time of this post 22:00 UTC 11/9/2025
Blank screen as before.

Captured 51MB of TS data over this 50deg elevation pass, about as high as it gets up here!
I could probably join the merger but I can't contribute any more than what Goonhilly Rx does so no need right now.

Is the transmiiter on ?

Post by G4IUG » Sun Nov 16, 2025 6:21 pm

OK, so with a bit of a rinky dink system into a HP analyser where I can clearly see the preamp noise and my 1.2M S Band system is tracking according to https://www.nasa.gov/spot-the-station/

Just now 16 November 18:00'ish I had confidence but no signal. My system could be faulty and I could check it in the workshop in a day or two ?

So the question is, was/is the transmitter on 2395Mhz always on ?

Thanks Dave

Hi Dave

The frequency is 2395 MHz - was that a typo?

As far as I know it is on at the moment - there have been no reports that it has been turned off and we usually find out. There was an outage on 13 November, but the signal has been seen since.

Hi Dave

Yes it was a typo !

Two passes later it was on, weak and about 2MHz wide. I need to do a fair amount of optimisation now, but at least I have a starting point. And with the £21 small black Chinese filter fitted with longer tuning screws (to bring the freqancy down a tad), no significant interference here on the side of a big hill.

BTW what polarisationis it ? I'm using standard RHCP

Thanks Dave
