125kB not decode?

Post by DL5BCA » Fri Oct 10, 2025 1:46 pm

Hello,
I'm experiencing a strange issue with the Ryde receiver at our repeater location.
I access the Ryde via Putty and wanted to add additional bandwidth (125 kB).
333 kB and 1000 kB work without issues.
Now I go to menu 4, Presets, and select 8, 437.0 MHz_1000 preset.
Then I select the 437 MHz band and enter the frequency 437500 kHz.
Then I select "Scan SRs Set Multiple Receive SRs for Scanning" and enter "125" - OK - "333" - OK - "1000" - OK, and then leave the 0 so that no further SRs are saved.
Then "Receive."
Unfortunately, the 125 kB aren't being decoded. Also 500kB aren't decoded.

What am I doing wrong?

I always have crazy ideas.
Please don't be surprised.

Probably there is a frequency offset in the NIM so it isn't locking onto the narrow signal.

You could try a longer Tuner Timeout for 125kB see https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Ryde_Software# ... nsole_Menu

"The scan rate is normally 5 seconds per setting. So if you have one frequency and 4 SRs, each SR is checked every 20 seconds. If you have 4 frequencies and 4 SRs, all combinations are looked at, but only once every 80 seconds. The scan time (Tuner Timeout) can be set in the Advanced Settings. Note that a Tuner Timeout of 10 seconds is normally required for the reception of 66kS signals as they take longer to lock."
