Local Streaming to Ryde

Post by G6MNJ » Wed Sep 17, 2025 12:09 pm

We are looking at automating our Ident on the local DATV repeater and wanted to run a stream from OBS into a Ryde receiver

I can see config.yaml in the ryde folder is where the location of the path to the batc servers stream from, can I simply replace this with a local IP address? Then in addition to this can the individual stream name be left blank?

Lastly what type of stream does OBS need to send rtp, udp etc?

Thanks for your guidance in advance

Is the plan to use the HDMI output of the Ryde as a signal source?

If so, there is a much easier way of doing what you want by configuring OBS to output directly to a second HDMI port which would bypass the need to stream. Plug the HDMI connection in and then right mouse click the program output window where you will be able to add the new destination.

Hi Paul

As Clive says, I'm sure that there are easier ways of doing what you are trying to achieve.

To specifically answer your question, no you cannot simply replace the BATC server address with a local address, unless there is an rtmp server running on that address. OBS can stream to an rtmp server, and then Ryde would connect to the rtmp server to pull and display the stream, but you can't go direct from OBS to Ryde.
