Ryde is not connecting to source

Hello all
I've been reinstating my 2022 Ryde receiver. It's become a Ryde but has remained not a receiver. It doesn't appear to connect to the Minitiouner. I've just reboxed it in a smart enclosure and updated the software. Who knew that ssh is prevented by our Mozilla VPN client? That took me a while to find! The Minitiouner works well on Minitioune v1.0. I change the USB connection and connect it to the Ryde Pi. It's as deaf as a post. I'll change the cable next from ordinary Lindy USB to Chromeline just in case this matters. It might be a better screened cable
Any ideas please?
