Langstone ignores my Pluto
Langstone ignores my Pluto
I want to use my Portsdown in Langstone mode, to drive a QO-100 station, and then 13, 9 and 6cm systems. I followed the instructions to update the Portsdown software and install Langstone v2, then selected Langstone Config, then Switch to Langstone. Up to this point, everything works fine, but from now on everything I try ends with No LimeSDR connected, which is true because I’m using a Pluto. If I set up to boot direct to Langstone I get “Langstone Transceiver Lime version” before it reverts to the Portsdown main menu.
I get no error messages at start up, and when I check Pluto configuration it responds with “v0.31-4-g9ceb-dirty. This is correct for Portsdown operation”. I have tried both pluto.local and 192.168.2.1 as the Pluto IP address.
If I check Info on the M1 screen, it says Output to Pluto and registers the Audio Device as a USB PnP Sound Device, but then try Switch to Langstone and up comes the complaint about No LimeSDR connected.
What am I doing wrong? I have used the Pluto as part of a Satsagen set-up, is this the problem?

Re: Langstone ignores my Pluto
I can't remember how Dave configures it from Portsdown, I am sure there is probably a way to select the device.
However if you log into the pi and go to the Langstone directory you can then run the 'set_sdr' script.. That will allow you to switch between Lime and Pluto.

Re: Langstone ignores my Pluto
On the Portsdown, go to Menu 3, Langstone Config and then select "Langstone use Pluto".

Re: Langstone ignores my Pluto
Thanks Dave, but I don't have a 'Langstone use Pluto' option on that Menu, only 'Langstone use Lime'. So it thinks it's in the Pluto config at that point, but when I hit 'Start Langstone', up comes the 'No LimeSDR connected' screen.
I'll investigate the RasPi back door approach later

Re: Langstone ignores my Pluto
Have you tried toggling that setting? It would be the logical thing to do first rather than messing around in the config files.
Re: Langstone ignores my Pluto
As Mike says, if you touch "Langstone use Lime" it will toggle to "Langstone use Pluto". That's all you need to do.

Hi Paul,
I suppose you are using the latest P4 Version 202508230.
As Dave wrote:
- Enter M3, Langstone Configuration Menu (39)
- you should see the 'Langstone V2 Installed' button showing up in white,
- next to it on the right you will see the 'Langstone use Lime' button in blue,
- touch the 'Langstone use Lime' button and it will change to 'Langstone use Pluto'
- on the right above exit, touch the 'Start Langstone' button'
- the screen should change showing 'Pluto rebooting' and then 'Langstone Transceiver Pluto Version Loading',
and you should now have Langstone running with your Pluto.

YES!!!!
If you want Pluto, toggle Lime. Thank you. Logicality was never one of strong suits.
