Is GB3TV working?

Post by M0DQW » Sun Jul 20, 2025 4:08 pm

For the past few days I have not been able to receive GB3TV from Aylesbury, there is no output.

I have not tried sending an input signal, but I thought this repeater was on 24/7?

Maybe there is an issue that someone knows about?

Hi Matt
GB3TV is off the air at the moment, ( to much heat) A site visit is arranged for Wednesday afternoon to investigate the problem and if possible to fix it.

GB3TV is back on air and now with a much improved 70 cms RX. No streaming at the moment but Phil is working on it.
TX o/p is on 1318.5 MHz DVBS 1ms Mpeg2

70cms input does seem to be improved. Managed to get a signal in on 437MHz using the vertical tri-bander above the house.

Well done team and thankyou!

I will have to have a try. I need to receive it, I normally can.

By the way Matt, you can get some good studio lights these days. No need to sit in the dark :)

Quick test, unfortunately my 70cm TX desenses my 23cm RX terribly. So I reduced power to about 1W and

So there is certainly an improvement. I am still de-sensing myself so the return of the streamer would really help

Mike

Edit Arthur G4CPE came back, so certainly working. If I can get in with 1W to the beam I might investigate a second antenna to avoid the de-sensing.

I was having that issue with the desensing until I made a little 23cm high pass filter pcb. Then magically I can receive on 23cm and transmit on 70cm with no issues, and the beams are stacked together :-)

But it would need to be up on the mast before the pre-amp. I have one, I might try it when I next luff the tower.

I just placed it at the input of the pluto I was using to receive 23cms. works great!
