I can add a gpio output to key a tone generator but it would be just as easy to key it directly from the key input.

The only advantage of providing a gpio output would be that it could also sound the beacon keying. I am not sure if people would want that or not.

When in beacon mode would it be better to remain silent or to sound the beacon?

Colin.

Personally, I'd like to hear the beacon sending, but with perhaps a mute or on/off select function in the beacon menu?

Spotted this morning on Twitter, not sure where the firmware might be found (I have asked). The wonders of SDR continue.....

Gareth
If you find more info on the lower freq limit, would you please post it?

Thanks
