Locked No Video
Locked No Video
I thought it was time I had a play with the Ryde receiver.
I Installed the latest version from github and connected up my IR receiver and minitiouner.
The IR remote works fine and I can navigate the menus but I am only getting “Locked No Video” on the screen when I try to receive any transmissions including the beacon. It changes to “Not Locked” when the signal stops or I tune away.
I have checked the minitiouner is working on the pc and signals are decoded fine. 9dB MER on the beacon.
Am I missing something obvious here?

Re: Locked No Video
Tried a fresh build on a new SD Card, same result.
Tried the development build, same result.
I watched closely during the build and didn’t spot any errors when loading or building packages.

Re: Locked No Video
Tried running on a 4GB Pi instead of the 2GB one and the same result.
Then tried moving the HDMI cable to the other socket and it started working!
I am sure I tried that previously and it did not work, so maybe my 2GB Pi has one HDMI not working. I will retry at a later date.
For reference the HDMI socket that worked is the one nearest to the power socket.
The confusing thing is that the menus and screen appeared to be working, just no video.
I see now that it is mentioned in the wiki but maybe the correct HDMI port also needs to be highlighted in the github install instructions.
Now to try to get some sound which is not working at the moment.

Re: Locked No Video
No sound was due to my monitor being wrongly detected as DVI instead of HDMI.
Setting hdmi_drive=2 in. /boot/config.txt fixed this.

Hi Colin
Thanks for all the feedback. I have just created an FAQ page linked from the Ryde Introduction on the Wiki, rather than expand the GitHub readme.

Re: Locked No Video
Thanks Dave,
I thought it was worth reporting my experiences.
Now I have it working I am impressed. It seems to behave very well.
I look foreword to seeing how it develops.
Colin.
