Longmynd not loaded - Solved

Post by G1LWX » Fri Jul 17, 2020 2:14 pm

HI
Started to build the Ryde project this morning.

Raspberry pi 4 4Gb.
Minitiouner.
Hdmi to vga convertor.

Sd card built up as per wiki.

After loading the software and rebooting "Longmynd not loaded" flashes up for one second
then goes back to prompt.
I have rebuilt the sd card twice but still having problems

Hi Mike,
Can you ssh in and run this for me and post the output?

Code: Select all

cd /home/pi/ryde
python3 -m rydeplayer /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml

Hi Mike,
Looks like something might have gone wrong during the install as it doesn't looks like VLC is installed. Can you try doing

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install vlc
Tim

OK
Now instead of flashing on for a second I am now getting the red screen with "Longmynd not loaded" all the time.

I have just noticed that it is showing an under voltage so that may explain things in the download.

Mike

I would suggest sorting out the power supply and then rebuilding the SD Card from scratch. Generally easier than troubleshooting a partial install.

Ok Dave/Tim
Sorting out a more robust psu today then will try another rebuild.
Never had a problem before building cards, psu must have been borderline.
Will report back.

Hi,

today i did a first time and fresh install of Ryde on a brand new 8GB RPi4.
The installation works well so far, nor errors.
I installed my custom TT-connect remote control which seems to work basically.

The very first time I started Ryde, I immediately got the beacon demodulated.

Since then I never got a demodulation anymore, but "Longmynd not loaded" :(

I tried several things (6A PSU, checked my MinitiounerPro V2 with the Minitiouner software which works well, re-powered the Minitiouner), but I couldn't get it work again.

This is the output of "python3 -m rydeplayer /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml":

Code: Select all

[pi@raspberrypi ryde]# python3 -m rydeplayer /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml

There seems to be several problems:
- This pulseaudio error message
- Unknown IR code for VOL and CHAN (used the yaml-template from https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Ryde_remote_controls)
- and something with the tuner (which seems to be detected well, and yes the NIM FTS-4334L is powered on and externally powered)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Thorsten

The problem is with the tuner. The PulseAudio and IR Code messages are normal. The actual error is here:

Code: Select all

Flow: LNA init 1
Status: found new NIM with LNAs
ERROR: failed to recognise LNA ID 1 0
ERROR: LNA init 1
ERROR: failed to init a device - is the NIM powered on?
Unfortunately no-one on the development team has a MinitiounerPro V2 to test with as the Ryde is designed for the BATC MiniTiouner Version 2.

Asking the community: has anyone else seen this problem with a MinitiounerPro V2?

Dave, G8GKQ
