How about something like this for tuning ? 🤞

Excellent John :) I've managed to get my Arduino Micro/Nextion Mouse Impersonator working with a rotary encoder and I've added a function to make the Langstone tune in 12.5kHz steps (for FM), so I could probably make a similar device if only I had any graphic design skills :(

I second the sentiment but I understand the complexity involved in starting from scratch.. I have reached out to the maker via twitter..

It is available for ¥10,000 ~ 83 Euro

Frequency counter

A frequency counter that displays frequencies in a dial image.
Detailed customization such as design customization and offset value setting is possible.
It is a frequency counter to be used not as a measuring instrument but as a frequency display built into a radio.

As a built-in frequency counter, there is a cheap kit, but since the frequency display is only numbers, the design is still somewhat limited.

In the days when frequency counters were not popular, frequency display was a mechanical dial mechanism. Making the dial mechanism was difficult, but visually, this "dial" was an impressive part.

Regardless of the frequency reading accuracy, I think that the "dial" is still hard to throw away from a design perspective.
Therefore, instead of the mechanical dial mechanism, the frequency is displayed as a dial image.

2.4 inch TFT color LCD is used for display. The CPU is a PIC32MZEF series with 512kB SRAM, and image processing is performed without an external memory.

It can be connected to a PC with a USB interface and can be designed using a PC application (customization tool). Youtube video :https://youtu.be/e92y0ONECDc

In addition to customizing the dial image, digital frequency, meter image, arbitrary character string, etc. can be arranged by specifying the position.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT OF THE FREQUENCY COUNTER BOARD CAN BE DISTRIBUTED FOR A FEE.
SHIPPING AND TAX ¥10,000 (1 PIECE)

Not really intended for repeater use so not a high priority. Maybe one day!
