Portsdown stream viewer

Post by G1LPS Terry » Wed Jun 24, 2020 8:39 pm

The Portsdown stream viewer is intermittent at the moment? on both the Portsdown and Portsdown A27 builds. some days it works sometimes it doesn't. I am not alone in this as a local station has the same issue. Could someone else please check their build.
Could be coincidental but its only since the maintenance outage.

Thanks
Terry

Hi Terry

Any particular stream?

GB3HV was OK yesterday (it's not sending at the moment) and 'KM and 'ZZ seemed OK when I just checked.

We are investigating some problems with the NARC Live stream.

Hi Dave only and all active streams.
I have just checked both Portsdown and A7 again to day 25th

Portsdown & A27 shows valid stream found and the Portsdown splash screen only.
same on the 24th.
23rd working
22nd not working.

Before maintenance update always working. No changes to system this end.
Any ideas?

Regards
Terry

Hi Terry

All working for me at the moment (Portsdown Buster 2020). I'll ask Phil if he has any ideas what might have changed.

Who is your ISP?

Its presumably HTML5 and not flash and unrelated to the problems some others have been having with ISP blocking flash.

No Mike

The Portsdown plays the flash stream, even if the streamer is selected to send HTML5 and flash. This keeps the latency down to 2 seconds or so.

Note that the BATC streamer software either sends flash only, or flash and HTML5. There is no option for it to send HTML5 only.

In that case could it be the ISP?

In Colin G4KLB's case it looking more like a ISP issue as it's working fine for me (EE) but not for Colin (sky) unless he uses his phone as a WiFi hotspot.

I use sky but the other person with affected stream player "on the portsdown" doesn't . They use virgin.

What phone provider do you have ? Maybe setup a WiFi hit spot and try it to see if it makes a difference ?

All best John
