Just had my first two-way (RX-TX my end) SDR QSO, across town with Martin G4FKK. My Langstone driving a small amp, driving a brick amp and filter hooked up to my 5 element LFA pointing in his direction (not a good path).
Happy enough to now do some shack tidying ;-)

A couple of new Updates today.....

Changes to the GUI..
Added Tx Attenuator control to the settings menu. Different settings can be made for each band.
Likewise Squelch level and FFT Reference level are now linked to the band selected.

Changes to the SDR..
SSB Tx now has ALC. This prevents overdrive and improves Tx Level control. It is not as good as a proper speech processor but it helps.
CW Tx signal quality improved by extra filtering.

Nice update.
I noted that there is no noticeable delay in the tx audio now also.
Speech seems to happen instantly.
Great work :D

The latency (delay) with tx speech is still there. It gradually increases the longer the program is running. I have a few ideas that might fix it.

If I want to update, I assume its rebuild the flash card as per the initial instructions? However, formatting the disc shows only one 50Mb drive which Windiskimager clearly says isn't large enough.
From memory I have to go into windows disc management and delete the 50Mb volume, then the larger one, then reformat etc...

Well, that's what I'm doing now......not a Linux expert ;-)

Probably too late for you now, but updates are a lot simpler than that. See this Wiki page: https://wiki.microwavers.org.uk/Langstone_Project

Hi Gareth,

As Dave says you can update as follows;

Log into your Langstone using SSH,

cd Langstone
./stop
./update
./run

See the notes in the WiKi if you have changed your Pluto’s IP address. (Thanks Dave for those notes)

A completer rebuild will do the same but is not necessary.
Windiskimager doesn’t normally need the card to be reformatted. It will work with an unformatted card or one that already contains data.
As you have found Windows can’t see the larger second Linux partition so it gets confused regarding disk sizes.

Colin.

Thanks both, sorted two things now :-)
Quick route to rebuild - great :-)
Still had trouble during the build despite trying different PSUs (again). Took it all downstairs to the actual main Virgin router, plugged it into a spare port and it went through like a dream. So flakey network switcher in my loft room seemed to have been dropping packets, or something.....
Anyway, now working like a charm again :-)

As Dave has found with the Portsdown, a poor internet connection can cause problems with large installs.
It is difficult to write an install script that can handle that.

Hi Colin,

I've just done a new SD card and now my screen is upside down. When I first loaded the software I remember changing a file to reverse this but can't remember how I did it...hi. Any help gratefully received.
