The LimeSDR Mini DX Callenge

Post by G8GKQ » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:32 pm

Starting with the January activity weekend (12/13) we will be running an informal competition to see what the best DX is that can be achieved on each band using a LimeSDR Mini barefoot. So no PAs, just connect your LimeSDR to the aerial after it has completed its calibration routine - so 7 seconds after putting it into transmit.

Please post your results here and I'll maintain an informal league table.

As an entry for the limesdr challenge, pictures were received over a 35km path last Sunday morning. From malvern to Broadway IO82UC05MV to io92ba95pl. Transmit on 1255MHz, 250k using a Portsdown driving a barefoot Limesdr mini (gain =88). Receive using a preamp, aerial-parts of colchester bandpass filter, the Adalm Pluto and SDRAngel

I was going to use the Minituner as the receiver but got distracted by the youtube posting on making the adalm pluto work with SDRangel. I did also try SDRangel with my rtl dongle but that couldnt quite lock, even with the preamp
