Es,hail-2 beacon

Post by G4CPE » Thu Nov 29, 2018 12:34 pm

I am receiving this signal on 10.706GHz at about 24.5E. It does not identify but I think it is the engineering beacon.

Hi Arthur,

I am receiving on 10.706GHz the same signal. It could be engineering beacon. I am receiving another one on 11.205GHz. See on this page: http://frequencyplansatellites.altervis ... eEast.html

Hi Pavel
Thanks for posting those pics. I observed you had an IF and audio spectrum display on the SDR# which I had not discovered.
I now have them displayed and find them very good for checking on system frequency drift.

Hi Arthur,

move the mouse on the IF Spectrum window, press the left mouse button and move mouse to the left or to the right for fine tuning.

Having just got my dish set up at weekend have been looking for the Es'Hail-2 beacon but seems I timed it to coincide with a switch to different antenna pattern. However it seems to have come back this morning, spotted the sidebands for the first time this morning and seeing other reports of stronger signal and might be circularly polarised.

Hi Arthur,
nothing seen at G4HIZ QTH. Be on the lookout for strong local sources though. The other day I nearly got caught-out by some nearby temporary traffic lights' radar at 10583MHz.

It looks like they are testing radioamateur transponders today. See at https://twitter.com/ea4gpz?lang=de.

Not at all Arthur. I have to build some equipment for uplink. I hope we will hear via Es'hail 2 in the future.

73 and Merry Christmas to all.
