3-D printed cases at BATC-18

Post by radiogareth » Tue Aug 28, 2018 7:52 pm

I am attending this years conference (both days) and am busy building my Portsdown system and other bits. I have a 3-D printer (Prusa I3V3) and have successfully printed two different screen surrounds for the 3.5" touchscreen, also a handy stylus pen.
I'm offering to print these 'at-cost' (electricity, filament and machine time) plus a small donation (you choose) to BATC funds.
I did NOT produce the CAD for these cases so its not my intention to profit personally from this offer, just help fellow enthusiasts like we have all been helped by BATC stuff over the years and even more so laterly with the advent of DATV.
I can offer SIlver, Black, Blue, Red and BRIGHT orange.....
Picture attached. Initially only for collection from the convention as postage is expensive.
Blue case (2 parts screen not included) or grey sloping case £3 + donation, stylus £1 + donation.
Send me a PM if interested.
Gareth, G4XAT

* Update, I can post the small rectangular case for £1 extra, but the sloping unit would be £2.95 !!! and would require careful packing to preclude damage in transit......

These were very popular at the convention and I sold out of the spares I took along.
I'm now happy to make them available to a wider audience on the same basis as above, plus postage and paypal fee unless you send it by friends and family. Initially only to the UK please.
So in summary, rectangular two-part case, £5 delivered to include a £1 donation.
Regrettably the sloping case has to go 'small parcel' which alone costs £2.95 so that would have to be £7.

Email me directly if you are interested, I can also offer end-plates for the Hammond aluminium box reccomended for the Minitioune, see my thread on that forum which also lists additional colours.

I've improved (IMHO) on the original design and have also incorporated a storage tube for the touch-pen. ('Tis in vain to do with more that which can be done with less' - it also prints quicker...)
I also have a wider range of colours.

Happy to do so, yes. Latest design as shown with or without the included pen-holder, includes back-sheet, £1 donation to BATC and postage = £7.00 via paypal friends & family or +5% straight paypal. Send me a message stating colour and choice.
Dark Blue Pearl or Green pearl or red pearl.
Light Blue
Orange
White
Clear
Red
Ice-blue clear
Black
Silver
I should point out that this case with the pen holder works with the touch screen that has the ribbon connector TOP LEFT when viewed from the active screen side and the extra width part of the screen (hidden) to the right hand side. The case without the pen holder works with either screen.
