Congrats on the DX!

What a difference a bit of hot weather makes to the dx possible ;-)

Rob thanks for the 24 cms pics the other evening. My shack was in a total mess due to reconstruction work on the roof. Idiot that I was I took the wrong feed from my RX into my computer and only got black and white images! But I got Allan G0K00's 10 Ghz signals via your 24 cms transmission. You had your monitor running in the background! Pity we couldn't make it on 5 Ghz but I only had a temporary set up on my lawn. Nothing up on the mast where it needed to be!

Glad to get a two way on the third attempt at a slightly different location and with the better conditions.

Hopefully manage more contacts across the water in the future, Cornwall sounds a push but who knows :)

@ Pete G8JAN

You don't need me - you can do it all by yourself, looks like you've caught the bug again! Besides I'm trying to get the Southern team in to action and beat the lot of you :-)

My advice looking at the weather forecast is to forget the rally tomorrow and get up to West Runton!

Enjoy Barford - wish I was there, maybe next year...

Noel does this mean you are forsaking your grass roots mates in the outer fringes of civilization? :D :D
The rally was OK yesterday Pete and I had a good natter with a few ATV interested people. We are both trying to improve our portable gear for another session at the coast (must make sure mine works the next time Duh).

We are also discussing putting up some sort of manned beacon on 5Ghz. I've an idea for a horizontally polarized omni directional antenna with gain. ATV is all subject to having no domestic chores to do so time is limited. There is no such thing as retirement! :D

I've made contact with PA1SDB on Twitter and he is interested in doing some tests but he is in the North of Holland so it would have to be Skegness or further North - Rob or G8AGN may be interested as well. I will let you know his reply.

Keep us posted, chaps - my preferred operating positions are currently inaccessible (road closures and they're on fire anyway), so when I and the gear are ready for a try-out, I might fancy taking a trip to the east cost :)

I've suggested PA1SDB registers on the forum and replies directly.

BTW - need to check what frequencies they operate on - may not be the same and it may have to be split operation.

Good luck :-)

Sounds good to me Noel and I think Pete G4NJJ would be up for it too. We are both trying to get our portable gear sorted out at present in between domestic chores! If we can get possible dates sorted out and a good location it will give us something to work towards. It would be great to have a big group attempt.
