Portsdown users map
Re: Portsdown users map
Hi Bernard
Done - you are now on dry land! I think you have to click on your pin, wait until the box appears and then you can drag it.
Yes it is good Portsdown has been so popular and we know there are more French OM about to build systems

Re: Portsdown SD Cards
Are any of the stations on the map active? I am up in IO83RO and not heard any local activity besides Sean 2E0SAF. I have managed to get into GB3UD with a Portsdown, but for unknown reasons the repeater is pretty weak here. Its supposedly line of sight!

Re: Portsdown users map
Hi Noel,
Myself and Seamus G7ITT were on the map but have both disappeared, I have reset the location for Ian G4EXD however.
M5TXJ IO84tm
G7ITT IO84sp
We have both completed our Minitiouner, my Portsdown is complete, Seamus' is coming along well. My next step is to build an amplifier, because of my remote location I'm going to concentrate on 2m to start with.

Re: Portsdown users map
Hi Dave,
This is probably a quirk of how we do the map - Dave G8GKQ updates an excel spreadsheet of every Portsdown sale (!) from which I then export callsign and town in to a .csv. This goes in to Google maps and overwrites any changes users had previously made plus places all stations in say Leicester on top of each other. However, you can identify every one in the list on the left hand side.
I can't think of another way to do it - we don't have QRA locators in the database but we do have Postcodes but that only works for the UK and could possibly be seen as an infringement of data protection.
As sales have slowed I suggest from now on we just add any new users by hand then users can update their location etc and it won't get overwritten.
Expand the list in the box on the left hand side - click on your callsign, which will open the box over your pin, click on the pen and type away. Also, once your station is selected you can then move your pin on the map.
If you are not on the list, simply click the add marker symbol on the row below the search box and click on the map to add the pin - then edit the box with your callsign etc.
