Hi Charles,

EDIT

just installed using the same process on my Win 7 laptop and it worked first time - anyway below is my current situation on my Win 10 PC.
///////////

Bit of progress, program starts up but reports it can't find Pluto

ADALM-PLUTO Not found -1005

Maybe I've not quite got the Pluto drivers installed which DATV express requires.

I followed these instructions:
//////
The Windows drivers for the ADALM-PLUTO are here
https://wiki.analog.com/university/tool ... rs/windows

The notes on how to extend the frequency range are here
https://wiki.analog.com/university/tool ... ustomizing

You will also probably have to install the VC++ 2015 re-distributable (32 bit version)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... x?id=48145

/////////

Here's my config file if that helps

Hello Tim,

If you open your internet browser and type in the address 192.168.2.1
you should see the ADALM-PLUTO welcome page if you have the drivers installed correctly.

Hi Charles,

did a complete re-install (drivers and application) from the ground up including PC restarts between each action and it worked !

I suspect for some reason it was associating the Pluto device under Atmel in device manager as I also have an AVR dragon programmer - but it wasn't plugged in at the time.

Clearly something was messed up on my Win 10 machine but all good now.

Thanks again for your help and encouragement.

Good fun playing with this. Thanks Charles.

It's working at 5665MHz, SR1000, DVB-S, H264 as a lash up. The ADF4351 provides an LO of 4000MHz to the receive mixer. I can't get the constellation as good with DVB-S2. SR1000 looks like an optimum symbol rate.

Talking with G4CBW, he recommends 5763MHz for RB-TV, for people using narrowband transverters.

Great, Brian that is a better constellation than I have managed to get.
There are literally hundreds of registers to program in the AD9363
so I am sure things will improve when I get more familiar with it.

Receive converters are the next thing. A suitable LNA and a good
filter. 2 Watt 6 GHz WiFi amplifiers are quite pricey (compared
to 2.4 GHz ones but they are available and WiFi is COFDM so
they should be linear). As for antennas either a dish or an axial
helical beam. The helical needs slightly less than 20 mm diameter
turns on it if my maths is correct.

You can probably make a receive converter from a Pluto. Its duplex. So it should be a matter of copying input samples to the TX port set to a frequency within the range of your NIM. I have done this with my B200. I have not tried it with the Pluto and the USB bandwidth might be a problem, but maybe it can be done on the CPU/FPGA?

It is all open source so it could be looped back in the FPGA, seems a bit of a waste though.

I have not got very far with my GPU based DVB-D2 decoder but I am really aiming that
at lunar orbit cubesat reception so I have some time to complete it. :lol:

There's enough 3rd harmonic in the output for generating test signals on 10GHz around the shack.

Wouldn't the harmonic modulation be multiplied by 3? I would expect phase to be multiplied too.
