I went to Portsdown Hill (where else?) with the demo Portsdown transmitter. I worked G7JTT/p, G8LES and G8GTZ/P on 146 MHz, G4GUO on 437 MHz, and G8GTZ/P on 10368 MHz - the best catch of the day at 62 Km.
All contacts used the Portsdown Transmitter with appropriate PAs and Transverters. Receiver was a Sharp tuner, Minitioune 0.6d and an SUP 2400, again with appropriate preamps and converters.
In addition, I know that M0DTS, G0MJW, G4CPE, G4KLB, G8VAT, G8VDP, M1EGI, G8VDP and G3NWR/P were active. Was there anybody else out there?

ATV Activity Weekend 11/12 March 2017
Re: ATV Activity Weekend 11/12 March 2017
Hi Dave,
Yes I can report activity Saturday and Sunday between G0WFT, M0SKM and G3KKD. 70cms 333Ks/s Saturday and 70cms 2Ms/s Sunday.
Anyone else was either too far south or north. I did make an unsuccessful attempt at 23cms analogue with M0DTS on Saturday morning
Steve
Ian Waters G3KKD pictured Sunday afternoon. 70cms 2 Ms/s over a 62K path.

Report from G8GTZ/P:
Saturday - IO81SJ near Bristol filming with Txfactor.
Worked or heard G8VPG, G8IXE and G6AUR on 70cms Tx and 23ms rx via GB3ZZ
Sunday - Walbury Hil - IO91GI
146 MHz
G0MJW IO91IO - (29Kms) 2 way on DVB-S2 32APSK although I did not decode Mike (no Serit tuner).
G4CPE - IO91SW (96 Kms) 2 way on DVB-S 333ks. One way G8GTZ/P tx on DVB-S 32APSK received but no decode.
G8LES IO91LC - 2 way DVB-S2 8PSK
G8GKQ IO9KU - 2 way 333Ks
10GHz
G8GKQ/P (62 Kms) - 333ks
G7JTT/P - IO91JA 39Kms - One way G8GTZ/P tx 2ms
Worked M0DTS on 144.750 but no chance on ATV
Great fun
Looking forward to the next one - Question, should we make it a monthly event from March to October?? Just seems a long time until May when the NB contest season begins and the next planned activity day...

Re: ATV Activity Weekend 11/12 March 2017
As G6NOI and I arrived at Rhosesmor, North Wales, the rain started. It wasn't very heavy, but the blustery wind made for an unpleasant afternoon weather wise. However the activity made up for it and all our contacts were on 3cm.
The tx equipment was a 'Solfan' / DG0VE 500mW PA / 15dB horn combination. The rx system was an Octagon LNB with a 26MHz crystal, 60cm offset dish and a MiniTiouner (Sharp) / Pace MSS508.
The cunning plan to dispense with CRTs for analogue succeeded. The output of the Pace was connected to the DigiLite transmit system through the HVR1900 MPEG-2 capture box and viewed on the laptop.
Except for G4CBW, all transmissions were analogue.
Received by G3UVR at 14km.
2-way with M0LCR/P at 31km.
2-way with G7MNP/P at 31km.
2-way with G4CBW at 65km.
G4CBW was running about 10W to a 1m dish at first. We received him on the LNB alone and also on the dish with very low power. This was our first reception of 3cm digital. We look forward to trying longer paths. We also tried transmitting to him vertically on 2m. The signal was very strong, but would not lock, presumably due to lots of multipath.
We heard M0DTS and G8VDP on the vertical on 144.750MHz. In the end, time was pressing on and the weather had sapped our strength to continue. An enjoyable day overall. Thanks to all who took part.
