Getting Started Workshop at CAT 16

Post by G8GKQ » Thu Sep 15, 2016 8:03 am

I will be hosting a "Getting Started" and "Show and Tell" Workshop at 11 am on the Saturday morning at CAT 16.

The workshop will initially cover:
  • 146 MHz RB-TV (DigiThin, DATV Express)
  • 437 MHz and 1255 MHz DATV (DigiLite, DATV Express, DTX-1, Ex-commercial gear)
  • 1255 MHz FM TV (homebrew/commercial)
However, I am happy to cover other areas, or to spend more time on specific areas, depending on what those attending request.

It would also be useful to have other members with their equipment to "Show and Tell". The aim is to promote the interchange of ideas and to help newcomers get on the air, and to help old hands to try new modes.

Please let me know, either directly or on this Forum Topic, what topics you would like to see covered. I would also be grateful for offers of help.

I would be interested to see a 3cm RB-TV setup.

On a related topic, do you have a Rubidium locked or similar frequency counter for checking reference oscillators?

OK Brian

I can bring my 10 GHz RB-TV kit to demonstrate - do you have a potential receiver (LNB and MiniTioune)?

I do have a GPS-locked counter, but have not tried the GPS element for a few years. I'll dig it out and let you know if it works.

Thanks. I'll bring a Pipo / Minitiouner / LNB.

Thanks. GPS locked frequency counter now working after adjustment. I can bring that as well.
