Re: 2SC1971 for my Talkback Rig
Thanks for all your pointers and help guys..
It's confirmed, the first ones I bought were made from moon cheese or something, definitely not what they said on the tin... You begin to doubt what you see on the meter.. I went round and round that circuit checking diodes, resistors, caps, in fact anything that didn't move.
And I gave the seller a positive FB on that well known auction site too.. Grrr.
Now restored to a full 10W output..

Re: 2SC1971 for my Talkback Rig
Hmmm... now that EY is fully operational, my thoughts returned to my PA which hasn't worked for some time..
It was Low output for some time so I bought another brick... put the brick in and... it didn't work at all!
It's still on the naughty step but I think I'll pop the cover off the new brick in case it's also built from guano... what does electronic bat guano look like?
Then either refit the original or shell out for another..
